What is Encounter 600?

A commitment to pray one hour each week in small groups with one agenda: united prayer for God’s Kingdom work through Center Grove in our community, nation and around the world.

 Why United Prayer?
United prayer opens the door that enables our church to witness, experience and influence the power and the presence of the living God.

What do you do at an Encounter Prayer Group?
The main goal of a prayer group is united prayer, using a church-wide prayer guide, for one hour each week. You will experience various types of prayer whether it be silent, praying Scripture, or individual prayer out loud.  The groups are made up of a prayer leader (captain) and prayer participants (comrades).

What if I do not know how to pray?
Participating in a prayer group is a wonderful way to learn!  You don’t have to pray out loud if you feel uncomfortable.   God is listening to our hearts as well as the words we speak.

When do prayer groups meet?
Groups pray at many different times and locations across the region during the week.

Do you have to be invited by someone to join?
No.  You may join any of the appropriate groups that are at a convenient time and location.

 Why should I join?
Because God’s Word teaches us to pray, and praying with fellow believers helps us grow spiritually.  Our groups provide essential prayer over our church, our staff, our ministries, and upcoming events for power, protection and purity.

What if I can’t attend all the time?
Don’t allow that to hinder you.  Make a commitment to attend as often as you can.

How do I join?
Please fill out the enlistment form where you may request a specific prayer group or request to be placed in one.  You will be contacted with more info after you enlist.

May I start my own prayer group?
